Two Haig Housing residents, John and Mark, together with fellow veteran and friend Ian, travelled to Normandy in June to pay their respects on the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

They visited the Normandy Memorial and laid three wreaths; John on behalf of the Royal Navy, Mark, the RAF and Ian, the Army.

They also met Nicholas Witchell who was instrumental in the creation of the Normandy Memorial a couple of years ago.

Their visit also included the Caen Museum, Pegasus Bridge and several cemeteries.
