We are delighted to receive a £200,000 grant from the Army Benevolent Fund towards our refurbishment programme for veterans’ homes.
Haig Housing has been the leading housing provider for ex-Service personnel and their families for over 100 years and runs over 50 housing estates, including a 340-home site in Morden, South London.
This generous grant will help fund Haig Housing’s programme to replace and modernise 80 kitchens and bathrooms in our homes for veterans, updating installed units and facilities including improved ventilation.
Captain Tim Stockings Royal Navy, Chief Executive of Haig Housing, said:
“We are enormously grateful to the Army Benevolent Fund for this generous grant towards refurbishment of kitchens and bathrooms across our UK veterans’ housing communities and look forward to welcoming the charity to view work in progress on our main estate in Morden early in 2024.”
Brigadier (Ret’d) Peter Monteith, Chief Operating Officer, Army Benevolent fund, added:
“Housing provision for veterans is a priority area for our charity. We are always ready to do what we can to help partner charities provide and maintain modern, comfortable and energy efficient homes for veterans and their families.”
